These students shared their thoughts on the selection as a semi-finalist and what it means to them as they prepare for the future, college, and a potential career choice.

Jack Meslow
Age: 17
How many years have you attended New Albany Schools?
I have attended New Albany Schools since I was in first grade.
What does the National Merit Semi-Finalist mean to you personally?
National Merit Semi-finalist, to me, is something I can put on my college application that sets me apart from the rest of my peers, and shows my academic prowess.
What colleges or universities are you considering?
I am considering several schools both on the east coast and within Ohio.
What would you like to pursue as a major, career, etc?
I plan to pursue in major in either political science or economics, though at this time I am still in the process of deciding.
What sort of activities are you involved with at NAHS or in the community?
I volunteer at the New Albany Branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library several days a week and play tennis and the guitar
